Ծնած է Պէյրութ, 1958-ին։ 1988-ին փոխադրուած է Սան Ֆրանսիսքօ, 2005-էն ի վեր կ՛ապրի Լոս Անճելոս։ Ուսումը ստացած է նախ Պէյրութ՝ Academie Libanaise Des Beaux-Arts (1981-1984), ապա՝ San Francisco Art Institute վկայուելով BFA եւ MFA Film վկայականներով 1989-ին եւ 1992-ին։
